Taryn Mickus is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant based in Alameda, CA.  She is the founder of Milk Nook, which provides in-home breastfeeding support for mothers, and consults for California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.  She helps new, experienced, and adoptive mothers initiate breastfeeding and overcome obstacles.  Taryn believes in giving mothers up-to-date information and caring support so that they can make informed decisions for their infants and themselves.  Taryn is a member of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) and has served on the board of the Bay Area Lactation Associates.  Taryn is also the mom of two breastfed kids.  She has personal experience with tongue-tie, thrush, over-supply, working and pumping, plugged ducts, mastitis, breastfeeding during pregnancy and tandem nursing.
